Are the prices per person or per vehicle?

The prices quoted are always per vehicle. The number of passengers per vehicle does not determine the price.

When do I get charged for my ride?

Your card will be charged at the time of booking. If you cancel your journey within the free cancellation period, the full amount will be refunded.

What payment options are available?

Black Carriage accepts Australian-issued and most international chip cards or magstripe cards with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express logo, as well as bank-issued eftpos chip cards.

Payment per bank transfer is accepted where payment is received prior to travel.

How many guests can you transport?

Our vehicles offer the most space, comfort and luxury in the chauffeur circuit; the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is ideal to transport 1 to 7 passengers. Our fleet of vehicles can cater to groups of all sizes.

Can I bring food and drink in the vehicle?

Our chauffeurs offer complimentary bottled water + mints as refreshments to all passengers.

The cleanliness of our vehicles is an integral part of our service; we discourage the consumption of food during the journey.

Alcoholic beverages are only allowed to be consumed in the vehicle with prior consent, and if in agreement with local laws. If a guest becomes too intoxicated, the chauffeur may ask the guest to refrain from drinking, and if it is compromising safety, they may stop the journey.

If the vehicle requires cleaning due to spilled food or beverages, there may be an additional charge

Yes. Black Carriage offers inter-city chauffeured services from city to city and long-distance transfers. Long distance transfers of 200km or more may be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup time

How many kilometres are included in an hourly booking?

Yes. Black Carriage offers inter-city chauffeured services from city to city and long-distance transfers. Long distance transfers of 200km or more may be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup timeUp to an average of 40 km of travel per hour is included in an hourly booking. An excess kilometre surcharge applies thereafter.

Is there a fee for a Meet and Greet Service?

Black Carriage is your local partner in Premium Chauffeured Services. Our meet and greet service is complimentary with all airport pick-ups.

Will my chauffeur help me with my luggage?

Yes, our chauffeurs are always happy to assist with loading and unloading your luggage and bringing them to your door.

What can I request in the special notes field?

Feel free to provide us with any additional information or requests to help us meet your expectations.

How long will my chauffeur wait for me?

For a general pickup (e.g. from an office, hotel or home address), your chauffeur will wait for 30 minutes before leaving the pickup point. The first 15 minutes are complimentary, and you will only be charged for the additional 15 minutes. If you know ahead of time you may be delayed, we recommend reaching out to us so that we can find a workaround for you.

Airport and train station pickups come with one hour of complimentary wait time before the chauffeur will leave the pickup location. By providing your flight or train number when booking, your chauffeur will be able to track your arrival time and adjust your pickup time for any delays and early arrivals (where possible). If there is a very long delay and the chauffeur is unable to wait, we will contact you to work out a solution.

Am I supposed to wear a face mask during the ride?

Black Carriage complies with State and Federal Government Covid-19 regulations.

How does Black Carriage accommodate travellers with special needs?

BWe aim to accommodate all travellers to the best of our ability. All of our chauffeurs are trained in accordance with the Australian Government Persons of Disability regulations in regards to transportation.

Whether you have limited mobility, hearing impairment, vision impairment, a service animal (i.e. service dog), an assistive device, or require extra assistance from the chauffeur, we will do everything we can to meet your needs and make your trip as pleasant as possible.

For bookings with special needs, please write your request in the “Special requests / Notes for the chauffeur” box when booking.

If you are traveling with an assistive device, please be sure to also include its size, especially for larger devices like foldable wheelchairs, so the chauffeur can make sure it will fit in the vehicle. Please note that we are usually unable to transport rigid-frame wheelchairs.

We highly recommend booking at least 24 hours prior to your trip.

Why should I enter my flight/train number?

Your flight/train number enables us to track your flight or trains status and adjust the pickup time for any delays or early arrivals, where possible. This also ensures your chauffeur knows which terminal or platform in which you are arriving.

Where will my chauffeur meet me at airports?

Black Carriage includes a complimentary Meet & Greet service with all airport pickups.

On Domestic Flight Arrivals : Your chauffeur will meet you, displaying your personalised signboard, at the baggage claim area.

On International Flight Arrivals : Your chauffeur will meet you, displaying your personalised signboard, in the foyer after you exit the customs and baggage claim area.

For airport pickups where the meeting point is different, the location will be written in your booking confirmation email.

What if my flight or train is delayed?

By providing your flight/train number for all airport and train station pickups, when booking, we are able to track their status and adjust the pickup time for any delays or early arrivals (where possible).

For example, if your flight is scheduled to arrive at 4:00 p.m., you booked your ride for 4:30 p.m., and your flight is delayed arriving one hour later (5:00 p.m.), we will automatically adjust your ride pickup time to 5:30 p.m.

Where will my chauffeur meet me at train stations?

Your Black Carriage chauffeur will meet you curb-side, displaying your personalised signboard, for your train station pickups. Your booking confirmation email will include the street name for your pickup, so you know which station exit to use.

What colours are the vehicles?

Black Carriage cars are predominantly black however we do have a variety of colours throughout our fleet.

Are your vehicles insured?

All of our vehicles are fully licensed and insured.

How do I choose a pick-up time at airports?

Generally, your chauffeur will arrive at the airport just prior to your flight landing. Black Carriage will track your flight to ensure we are there with plenty of time.

Alternatively, you can request a specific pick-up time, if you are waiting for multiple flights or having a meeting.

Do I need to specify the arrival terminals at airports?

No, we will track your flight and be aware of your arrival gate prior to arrival

Can I transport my pet?

Please include the details of the animal and the number of passengers in the Notes / Special Requests when booking.

Transporting animals with Black Carriage without including the details in your booking may incur additional charges.

Our chauffeurs reserve the right to refuse the transport of an animal that was not agreed to and not added to the Special Requests field when booking. This also applies to animals not contained in a suitable transport carrier.

Service animals are permitted in all our vehicles in accordance with State and Federal laws. Please include the details of the service animal and the number of passengers in the Notes/Special Requests when booking and provide documentation upon request.
